Where To? 3D (3D is their latest killer feature!) is the next generation augmented reality in iOS. Where To? finds POIs in your area and lets you easily navigate to those POIs. Where To? has gorgeous mind blowing interface, which is one of the reasons that we are talking about this right now. Even Apple is jealousy about it. Remember? Apple had been really jealousy on Where To? interface and they even tried to patent it. Okay, lets come back. Where To? integrates with the most popular GPS Navigation systems such as Tom Tom and Navigon, so you can easily get to your destination with the help of this app. Added advantage: Where To? has POIs which are not available in Navigon or TomTom.
Next, Moving onto the KILLER FEATURE! 3D Augmented Reality. Most of the augmented reality apps in the App Store (Layar, Wikitude) are boring. Seriously. Future Tap, developers behind Where To? has beautifully developed the 3D feature in Where To? which one can basically make use of in their everyday life.
It works this way: You choose (or search) your point of interests in categories, you hold the phone either
in portrait mode or landscape and your camera pops up. The point of interests hovers over the over the real image of the world around you. The closer you move to the destination, the closer those markers. You can explore those POIs by turning the phone around you. Where To? 3D uses the iPhone’s compass and gyro to sense your movements and exactly put the markers on screen. Now this is something that works practically and not so boring like the other traditional apps out there. There is no lag. There is no
bug. Everything works perfect. Augmented Reality. Reinvented. The 3D feature is an add-on that costs $0.99 over the regular app price of $2.99. But trust me, its worth it. You’re not going to lose anything spending an extra buck on that piece of innovation.
With Where To? if your seriously jobless and don’t know how to spend your evening, shake your phone and Where To will randomly show you a place around you that you can visit today. No wonder, leave it to the Best App Ever ‘Best Navigation App – 2010′. Now its the best in 2011 with the killer 3D feature.
Everybody! Go get Where To? if you haven’t still gotten it. Oh no, forgot to mention. Don’t forget the 3D add-on as well!
